Frequently asked questions

Find answers about award flight search, alerts, pricing, and how to get the most value from your points and miles.

General

What is Flightflyer and how does it work?

Flightflyer is an award-flight search engine that helps you find flights using points and miles. We scan 25+ airline loyalty programs at once, compare points prices, show live award availability, and help you find the lowest redemption options for any route.

Which airlines and loyalty programs does Flightflyer support?

Flightflyer supports 25+ major US and global airline loyalty programs, including United MileagePlus, American AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles, Alaska Mileage Plan, JetBlue TrueBlue, Aeroplan, Avios, Qatar Privilege Club, Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest, KrisFlyer, Miles & More, Qantas Frequent Flyer, and more. We regularly add new programs.

Is Flightflyer free to use?

Yes. Flightflyer offers a free plan that gives you access to all 25+ mileage programs, cached award data (up to 7 days old), and the ability to browse popular routes. Our Premium plan unlocks real-time availability, advanced filters, unlimited alerts, and more.

Does Flightflyer book flights for me?

No. Flightflyer is a search and comparison tool. Once you find the award seats you want, you book directly through the airline or loyalty program. We help you find the best deal — you complete the booking on your terms.

Alerts & Notifications

What are award seat alerts?

Award seat alerts notify you when award availability opens up on a specific route and cabin class you're interested in. Instead of manually checking every day, Flightflyer monitors availability and sends you a notification when seats become available.

How do alert notifications work?

When Flightflyer detects award availability matching your alert criteria, you'll receive instant notifications via email and SMS. Premium users get real-time SMS notifications so you can act quickly before seats are taken.

How many alerts can I create?

Premium users can create unlimited award seat alerts. Free plan users can create a limited number of alerts. Each alert can be configured for a specific route, date range, and cabin class.

Can I set alerts for specific cabin classes?

Yes. When creating an alert, you can choose which cabin class you want to track — Economy, Premium Economy, Business, or First Class. You can also create multiple alerts for the same route with different cabin preferences.

Pricing & Plans

What's included in the Free plan?

The Free plan includes access to 25+ mileage programs, cached award data (up to 7 days old), the ability to browse popular routes via the Explore feature, and basic search functionality. No credit card is required.

How does the Premium plan differ from Free?

Premium unlocks real-time award availability (live data instead of cached), searching up to 360 days ahead, advanced filters (cabins, partners, alliances), multi-airport and region-based searches, unlimited alerts, instant email and SMS notifications, and the ability to request new routes to be tracked.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly billing?

Yes. You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time from your account settings. Yearly billing saves you 20% compared to the monthly plan.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. All payments are securely processed through Stripe.

What happens if I cancel my Premium subscription?

If you cancel, you'll continue to have Premium access until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account will revert to the Free plan. You won't lose any saved data or alert configurations.

Points & Redemption

How does Flightflyer help me maximize the value of my points?

Flightflyer compares redemption rates across all supported programs so you can see which airline offers the best value for your points. Instead of redeeming for statement credits at a fraction of a cent per point, you can find award flights worth 5-10x more per point.

Does Flightflyer help me find the lowest points price?

Yes. Flightflyer automatically highlights the lowest points price, best redemption value, and cheapest award seat options across multiple airlines and loyalty programs for any given route.

What are transfer partners and how do they work?

Transfer partners are airline loyalty programs that allow you to transfer credit card points (like Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, or Citi ThankYou Points) into airline miles. Flightflyer helps you find the best award seats across these partner programs so you can maximize your credit card points.

Can I compare redemption values across different programs?

Yes. Flightflyer shows the points cost for the same route across multiple loyalty programs side-by-side, making it easy to see which program offers the best deal for your specific trip.
